Hebrews 4:16
Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Hebrews 12:2
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Discovering The Worshippers Inside Us

I always knew as a Christian, you worship God. That's just a given. But I never really understood or comprehended what worship truly was. I'd sing along with all the songs at church and occasionally lift up my hands in reverence to God but it never was intimate. It was never personal.

Until this year, I had never truly surrendered it all. I only gave God portions of my life. I never gave him my dreams, my desires, everything I am, and everything I am not. I held onto all the hurts, disappointments, resentment, unforgiveness, that void kept getting bigger inside of me. I felt like I was floating through life. Trying to please people. Be who they wanted me to be.

It wasn't until everything I depended on, trusted in, loved, and held onto was gone. It wasn't until everything I ran to except for God lost its' place in my life. Until I was left with the only thing I had from the start. God. Everything I needed all along. He was there all along!

I heard the other day that worship is a response our heart makes to God. How true it is.  I would say the first step to taking your place as a worshipper is just surrender to Him. Come before God and let go of everything you’ve been holding onto so tightly. Forget about everything else going on for a moment and just fall in love with Him. Worship will not only be different but it will change your life...Rebekah Manseau
