Isaiah 30:18 (AMP)
And therefore the Lord earnestly waits (expecting, looking, and longing) to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who earnestly wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him (for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship)!

Life Books

Sometimes I wish our lives were made into books. So we could look back and see the mistakes we made or the triumphs we accomplished. We could look back in chapter 13 when we were in high school and compare to chapter 25 when we got married. Do you ever look back and try to remember the person you were back then? I have some memories from the past where I remember exactly what I’m wearing and what I was thinking.
How many of us repeat things and already know the outcome but we tell ourselves that it will work this time? Or how many of us are stuck in a situation, can’t find the solution and all we need to do is just look back in our book and see all the times God came through for us? We can relate to the Israelites in the Old Testament. Think of how many times they would fall back into their complaining, sinning cycles when all they had to do was look back and remember what God had done for them.
I used to think the Israelites were pretty much the most annoying people in the Bible because they had just gotten saved from Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, led by a pillar of fire, and YET they complained and just roamed in the wilderness. How could they have done that? Did they not just see all the amazing miracles God had done for them? Then it clicked. I am an Israelite. I have done the same thing. God has done so many things for me in my life and yet I am quick to forget and actually doubt Him!
God plainly says to not forget all the good things He’s done for us. This year I started writing in a notebook. I started writing down things God was telling me or things He’s doing for me. I started writing down encouraging scriptures for myself and marking down accomplishments or things I need to work on. Now when I’m going through something I can look back and compare where I was to where I am now.
God is a good God. He always has our back and is actually looking for any opportunity to bless us! Let’s not forget all the things He’s done for us.
